I have a passion for art!

As an artist I am largely self-taught, attending many workshops with artists whom I respected and admired. I have also been an active member of Doncaster Art Club 1897 for many years, though was daunted by the fact that it has an excellent reputation, everyone was very kind and supportive, critique was and is always positive and encouraging and I have participated in their own exhibition once a year at Danum Art Gallery.

I find peace in paint! is a saying that is so true

 Those few words mean so much and are the essence of how I paint, free from the stress of daily life and the toll that takes on the soul is soothed. I have worked successfully with watercolours, pastels and oil paints, though I do admit that my heart is very much with oil painting, learning and adapting techniques I was shown from the workshops.

Going out into different places and painting what you see at that moment is another passion, and becomes addictive and all consuming. Plein air painting is all about light and changes to the environment, so speed is of the essence, capturing the scene, mood, structure, light and shade which makes this form of art so irresistible not to mention capturing special memories which are evoked from painting places visited.

I have exhibited in various places in the UK and have sold work into private collections in Europe, USA as well as in the UK.
